Blue Lock is a Japanese manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura.The story revolves around Yoichi Isagi, a young football player who joins a radical training program known as Blue Lock, designed to create the world's greatest egotistical striker.The plot begins with Japan’s national team finishing 16th in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, leading the Japan Football Union to hire Ego Jinpachi to develop a new generation of players. The series has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine since August 2018, with its chapters collected in 28 tankōbon volumes as of March 2024.
